Don't buy the wrong resolution
WebJul 24, 2014 · Pull out the power plug and press and hold down your thumb or finger over the power on symbol for 30 seconds. Then if need be delete the display driver and remove the files, and re-install to flush out all PC based config. I also downloaded the Dell monitor driver just for good measure, which is basically a config profile.

In the first place, some devices have options to render in lower resolution than the maximum supported one.
