Gabor theory
WebDennis Gabor is best known as the father of holography, in recognition of his development of its theory in 1947. In this chapter, however, we are concerned with his theory of communication, published in 1946 (Gabor 1946), two years before Claude Shannon’s more famous theory (Shannon 1948). WebSep 12, 2007 · Abstract: Dennis Gabor, 1900-1979, applied physicist, engineer, inventor and polymath, is best known as the father of holography for which he won the Nobel Prize in 1971. He also did some quite outstanding research in communication theory and signal processing in the 1940's, and his results are still in active use today.
