I'd find deposits in my Nikasil'd two stroke cylinders that Scotch-Brite pads would not remove no matter how hard I rubbed. Now I just wet sand by hand in my sink with hot soapy water. Anything around 320 grit works fine. Web6 Apr 2024 · The cylinder was worn out a long time ago. The plating on the cylinder is only about .008. I now surmise the wear marks are the result of a loose piston wobbling in the bore. I recommend a complete engine rebuild or engine replacement. I am replacing the piston and cylinder, did a valve job on the head.
